Marcelo Bernardes

Marcelo Bernardes is a professional musician and a multi-instrumentalist specializing in wind instruments. He seamlessly transitions from the clarinet, flute, saxophone, drums, and guitar to help guide the plant medicine through music. He has also worked with Ayahuasca for 40 years and is the leader of a Santo Diame church at Flor da Montanha for the past 35 years. Though he comes from a more traditional Santo Daime background, he has partnered with Milli and Norberto musically to support all different manifestations of healing and embraces this loose style of diverse ceremonial work here at Terramaya.

Norberto Jurasek

Norberto Jurasek, the original facilitator at Terramaya, guided ceremonies and individual sessions for more than two decades. His teacher, Baixinha took him under her wings at the young age of 21 into the Santo Daime church and taught him how to work with Ayahuasca. Through her guidance and encouragement, he branched out of the traditional ways of the church in Brazil and traveled internationally to learn many other therapeutic modalities to incorporate alongside this plant medicine. After years of study in India and Germany, he became a certified psychotherapist in Bioenergetic Analysis, a certified breathwork facilitator, and studied in guiding meditation. All of this expertise incorporated with Ayahuasca sprouted the birth of an entirely new and unique way of healing, taking in the best elements of the ancient plant medicine while blending in the latest therapeutic methods of today. He spent decades facilitating this style of work both internationally and at Terramaya for thousands of people, helping facilitate the growth and transformation of countless people along the way. To the loss of many, he left his physical body at the age of 45 on March 13, 2020, leaving his legacy to Milli and Marcelo to continue on his lineage.

All helpers and assistants have years of experience in working with the sacred plant medicine Ayahuasca.

Our sacred plant medicine

Our Sacred Plant Medicine, Ayahuasca

Our sacred plant medicine, Ayahuasca comes from deep in the Amazon jungle in the state of Acre, Brazil. The community there works with sustainability and conservation at the forefront of their practice. They combine wild native vines of the jungle that are found deep in the heart of the Amazon jungle, sometimes aging several decades old, and blend it with vines they have sustainability planted in the region. They are careful to only harvest a small portion of the native vines and these plants are not visited again for several years so the vine has a chance to grow and replenish itself. They make sure to plant more than they ever harvest, ensuring that this sacred vine is accessible for generations to come. With Ayahuasca becoming more exposed to the Western world, we are committed to working only with communities who are helping ensure that this work can continue to serve humanity in the future.

Ayahuasca comes in dozens of varieties, each offering it’s own unique experience. This particular strain is incredibly strong but infused with intentions of pure light. With the heat of the Brazilian sun and the pristine rainforest water nourishing these wild and mature vines, the experience harkens a rare ancient remembering and deep wisdom from our ancestors. All of this infused with the unadulterated intention towards the light creates a uniquely pure and unprecedented Ayahuasca experience.

We are so incredibly grateful for access to this special medicine and in return, our investment in their vines over the years has given them the resources for their community to build a beautiful temple to gather and do their own spiritual work, creating a beautiful ecosystem of support between each other and the continuation of spiritual healing for all.
